Главный корт "AUSTRALIAN OPEN" - Rod Laver Arena. Корт построен в 1988 году, и с 2000 года носит имя прославленного австралийского теннисиста Рода Лейвера. Вместимость Род Лейвер Арены 15 000 зрителей, корт оборудован раздвигающейся крышей.
Второй корт австралийского турнира - Vodafone Arena, вмещающий 10 500 зрителей. Очень удобен тем, что легко трансформируется в зависимости от проводимого в нем мероприятия. Благодаря этому кроме теннисных турниров здесь проходят велогонки, соревнования по баскетболу, волейболу, а также разнообразные концерты. Водафоун Арена имеет раздвижную конструкцию, используемую в качестве крыши.
Margaret Court Arena - старейший корт «AUSTRALIAN OPEN». До 2003 года носил название "Первый показательный корт" (Show Court One), но был переименован в честь самой успешной в истории тенниса австралийской теннисистки Маргарет Корт, которая имела 62 победы на турнирах Большого Шлема - что до сих пор является непревзойденным рекордом. Здесь ежегодно проводится старейший и престижнейший теннисный Уимбилдонский турнир - единственный из турниров "Большого шлема", проводимый на кортах с травяным покрытием. Траву, которая составляет покрытие Уимбилдонских кортов, выращивают на специализированной йоркширской ферме.
Процесс производства и хранения такого дерна до сих пор держится в тайне (считается, что это смесь трав: ржи и овсяницы). Каждая травинка на кортах Всеанглийского клуба лаун-тенниса и крокета имеет высоту ровно 8 мм - именно настолько ощипывали газон овцы, которые в 19-м столетии имели открытый доступ на теннисные поля.
Все финальные матчи Уимблдонского турнира проходят на Centre Court, который был построен еще в 1922. В 2009 году произвели реконструкцию Centre Court - над ним сделали прозрачную раздвижную крышу и увеличили количество мест до 15 000.
Корт №1 (No. 1 Court)- первоначально примыкал к Центральной арене, но в 1997 подвергся капитальной реконструкции, в ходе которой полностью заменили арену и увеличили количество мест. Изначально Корт №1 имел уникальную игровую атмосферу и был в фаворе у многих теннисистов, поэтому его реконструкция вызвала сожаление у большинства игроков и зрителей.
Теннисный стадион Чи Джонг в Шанхае, где периодически проходят турниры Кубка Мастерс. Потрясающее строение на 15 тыс. посадочных мест. Крыша стадиона выполнена в форме лепестков магнолии и способна раздвигаться всего за 8 минут.
И наконец, Burj Al Arab - самый высокий и нашумевший теннисный корт в мире, расположенный в гостинице в Дубаи, на крыше здания, высотой 321 м. В интервалах между теннисными поединками, корт выступает посадочной площадкой для вертолетов.

The wooden schooner got caught in a storm in the dead of night and went down in September 1886. In the weeks after, a lighthouse keeper reported the ship’s masts breaking the lake surface, and fishermen caught pieces of the vessel in their nets. Still, wreck hunters were unable to track down the ship’s location — until now.

Earlier this year, a team of researchers with the Wisconsin Underwater Archeology Association and Wisconsin Historical Society located the shipwreck off the coastal town of Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin, the association announced on Sunday.
Named the F.J. King, the ship had become a legend within the Wisconsin wreck hunter community for its elusive nature, said maritime historian Brendon Baillod, principal investigator and project lead of the discovery.
“We really wanted to solve this mystery, and we didn’t expect to,” Baillod told CNN. “(The ship) seemed to have just vanished into thin air. … I actually couldn’t believe we found it.”
The wreck is just one of many that have been found in the Great Lakes in recent years, and there are still hundreds left to be recovered in Lake Michigan alone, according to Baillod.

Built in 1867, the F.J. King plied the waters of the Great Lakes for the purpose of trans-lake commerce. The ship transported grains during a time when Wisconsin served as the breadbasket of the United States. The 144-foot-long (44-meter) vessel also carried cargo including iron ore, lumber and more.
The ship had a lucrative 19-year career until that September night when a gale-force wind caused its seams to break apart, according to the announcement. The captain, William Griffin, ordered the crew to evacuate on the ship’s yawl boat, from where they watched the F.J. King sink, bow first.
